The Face of the Enemy, by Lwyn'nya Kenobi
I love Q/O slash, I really do. But you're all on MA, you know the stories just as well as I do. So I decided to go back to my JA roots, dig out some gen fics that I still enjoy. So for the next eight weeks, I'll be presenting you with JA classics.

Warnings: Although the author doesn't warn for it, I think the violence might squick a few people. Emphasis on a few.
Reasons for recommending: I remember this story vividly from my JA days. The only reason I needed to rec this story is this: Lwyn'nya is damn good at angst and suspense. You simply don't know which way it'll go until you get to the end, especially with all the twists and turns. It's a really wonderful read as an action/adventure story, the kind that you just can't put down.

Qui-Gon, with a neutral nod to his apprentice, started after her, but Obi-Wan suddenly stopped him as he touched his hand to the Jedi Master's shoulder.
Qui-Gon sighed, having expected this moment to come. Please, Master, reconsider this. Take me with you! He could already hear his student's pleading in his mind. But when he turned to face his Padawan, those words were not spoken. Instead, Qui-Gon saw true resolve and concern in Obi-Wan's eyes.
It took a moment before the younger Jedi could speak. "Please . . . be careful, Master."
The words completely dissolved Qui-Gon's disdain as he looked into the eyes of his apprentice. It was the look of a son seeing his father off to war, knowing, fearing, that he might never return.
Qui-Gon smiled and squeezed Obi-Wan's shoulder reassuringly. "I will. Take care, Obi-Wan."

Further comments: I picked this story because I like it best, but Lwyn'nya's other stories - The Dark Side of the Truth, All That Glitters, Two Jedi Walked Into a Bar, etc. - are all great as well.

Actually, we're not all on MA. We're not all Q/O fans here, you know! (Then again, maybe I'm the only non-Q/O fan in this lot, in which case, my Wednesday recs are going to be really unwelcome.)

And don't worry about your recs. While we might be Q/O-centric, there are many other pairings that are welcome. In fact, I'm surprised we haven't seen any O/Anakin, O/Bail, Q/Mace, or... Q/Jar-Jar! =)
