Reasons for recommending: Another must-read in the JA universe. This one's fantastically angsty. Some of the passages in this story are quite beautiful. And the secondary characters are actually interesting, instead of being just... there, you know. Might want to stock up on tissues again though.

"You look tired, Qui-Gon." Gentle admonishment. "You should get some rest."

"Just tell me, An-Paj." The Master looked up at the Healer for a moment, then returned his gaze to the prone unresponsive figure on the bed. "It’s bad, isn’t it?"

"Yes." Sky blue eyes closed in sudden grief. Silence ensued, broken only by mechanical beeps.

"How bad?"

"Qui-Gon.."

"Just tell me!" A desperate shout. A clenched fist against the white sheets. A calming breath. "Please... I need to know." A whisper this time. Softer, but the agony did not lessen.

A nice, angsty little piece, displaying the too-often hidden feelings of the Master. But, for the record, An-Paj is NOT a canon character, but was dreamed up by a fan fic author named Jane Jinn, and it would probably be a good idea to give her credit for his creation. She is a regular on tf.n, and it would be even better to obtain her permission to use her OC. But, to be scrupulously fair, this is not the first fic I've read in which this character was used, in the assumption that he is part of GL's original cast.

Nevertheless, having been on the 'other' end of this type of situation, in having other writers use my OCs in their own stories, without bothering to ask permission, I can say without a doubt that it is NOT a pleasant experience.

Sure, An-Paj is not a canon character. I never mistakened him for one. I don't know if Eryce used him with permission or not but that's between them, and none of my business.
