Reasons for recommending: I want you to go to Mac's webpage, and just look how many stories she's written in this fandom. Now I want you to consider how long it took me to find this little one again. And how painful it was, as my duty, to read through the others to get to it - lucky it begins with a T :).
Quick plot summary: a mission goes awry, and Obi-Wan has to cope with a wounded Qui-Gon, who makes an unlikely confession. It's always been one of my favourites of Mac's, and oddly enough that's because of its tone. Though billed as Hurt/Comfort, there's no wallowing in angst: both Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan have an ironic, almost self-mocking touch which just makes their hidden emotions, glimpsed through their understated expressions, all the more poignant.

I think I love it most for this single line, which I have envied Mac for ages:

Quote from story:
One of the security officers, the only one not dead or injured, came over to me and sat on his haunches, looked down at Qui-Gon. “I’m sorry about your friend .. . .”
“He isn’t dead yet!” I snapped, aware of the anger that still swirled around my mind, mingled with the fear.
“I mean I’m sorry he was hurt.” He seemed surprised by the outburst and I realised I must look a sight, my hands red with blood, probably wild-eyed and very uninhibited for a Jedi.
“I’m sorry, I’m a little . . .distracted."

Having an orgasm while recovering from a stab wound defines the term “exquisite pain”.
