Reasons for recommending: What I love the most about Yahtzee's work in general, and her TPM stories in particular, is that she never makes love easy, and the relationship is all the sweeter for the work when they finally get here. Surfacing: At First is the first in a 5-part series which takes Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan's relationship through a rigorous course of angst, plot, and hurt/comfort, and of course, amazing writing.

Reasons for recommending: There are all kinds of ways to tie Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan together, and all sorts of different connections they share. This is a gorgeous little role-reversal with a young but very confident Obi-Wan Kenobi and a quiet Qui-Gon Jinn. It's been my favorite TPM fic since it hit the list.
